Three farmers missing as boat sinks in Teesta

Three farmers went missing after a boat, carrying 10 farmers, capsized in the Teesta river in Lalmonirhat this morning.
The boat capsized at Dhubni Hajirmor area of Singimari union under Hatibandha upazila around 8:30am, reports our local correspondent quoting Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Hatibandha Police Station.
The diving team of the fire service are trying to rescue the missing farmers, the OC said.
The missing farmers were identified as Fazlu Mia, 60, Ahedul Islam, 58, and Shafiqul Islam, 55, of Dakshin Gaddimari village of Hatibandha upazila.
Police and locals said 10 farmers were going to the Teesta river char on a boat. The boat sank in the middle of the river due to strong current of the river water. Locals later quickly rescued seven farmers with another boat.
