Schoolboy among 4 killed in road accidents
Four people were killed and 11 injured in road accidents in two districts during the last two days, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Lalmonirhat, a schoolboy and his uncle were killed, and the child's father was injured as a truck hit their motorcycle yesterday.
The accident took place around 9:00am on Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway in RDRS office area of Hatibandha upazila, said police.
Seven-year-old Abdullah Bin Nayeem was a nursery student of a local kindergarten. He along with his father and uncle was going to his school, said Hatibandha Police Station OC Ershadul Alam. Nayeem died on the spot and his uncle Imran Ali at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Nayeem's father Faruk Hossain sustained minor injuries. The truck driver was arrested, and his vehicle was seized from the spot, the OC said.
In Narayanganj, at least two people were killed and 10 injured as a truck collided with a human haulier in Araihazar upazila on Tuesday night.
The accident occurred around 10:00pm on Dhaka-Araihazar road in Binairchar area.
The deceased are Hajera (30) and Nasima (20) from the upazila, said Araihazar Police Station OC Anisur Rahman. Of the injured, four were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
He said around 10-12 workers were returning home from their workplace on the human haulier. Locals rescued the victims and took them to a hospital, where the doctors declared Hajera and Nasima dead.
