Run over by truck, college student dies in Pabna

A college student was killed after being run over by a truck in Ramchandrapur of Pabna's Bhangura upazila yesterday afternoon.

The deceased, Naim Hossain, 18, was an HSC student of Bangabandhu College, Rajshahi.

Foysal Bin Ahsan, officer-in-charge of Bhangura Police Station, said Naim and his friend were returning home on a motorcycle.

When they reached near Ramchandrapur Primary School around 2:00pm, Naim's friend lost control of the motorbike on Chatmohar-Bhangura road while trying to swerve to avoid hitting a child who came on to the road.

As the two fell, the truck ran over Naim and fled, leaving him critically injured.

He was declared dead when taken to Bhangura upazila health complex, the OC added.

Police were trying to identify the truck and arrest its driver.
