RU student dies in road accident

A student of Rajshahi University was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a truck in Rajshahi's Godagari upazila yesterday.

The deceased Abu Saeed Osama, 22, was a second-year student of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Rajshahi University, reports our local correspondent quoting police and RU officials.

He was the son of Abdus Salam of Budhpara area under Rajshahi city's Motihar Police Station.

The accident occurred at Rajabari area of the Chapainawabganj-Dhaka highway when Osama was going to Godagari upazila in a motorcycle with two others, said Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Godagari Police Station.

While overtaking a vehicle, the motorcycle ran into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Locals and the police rescued the three injured motorcyclists and took them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Osama was declared brought dead at the hospital and his body was sent for autopsy. Two other injured were admitted to the hospital.
