Road crashes kill 4 in Jamalpur, Narayanganj, Panchagarh

Four people were killed and six others were injured in separate road accidents in Narayanganj, Jamalpur, and Panchagarh districts today.
In Narayanganj, a motorcyclist was killed and three others were injured as a motorbike collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bandar upazila this morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Rimon, 26, while the injured are Rimon's friends Arjid, 25, and Md Sayed, 27, and auto-rickshaw driver Tofazzal, 55, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.
Family members said Rimon along with his two friends were going to Mograpara area of Sonargaon upazila from Bandar area on a motorcycle.
When they reached the Kaikartek Hazir area, their motorcycle collided with the auto-rickshaw, leaving the four injured.
Locals took the injured to Bandar Upazila Health Complex. Rimon was later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment, said Abu Bakar, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station.
In Jamalpur, two youths were killed in separate road accidents in Bakshiganj and Islampur upazilas.
A 15 -year-old boy was killed and another boy was seriously injured after a covered van hit an auto-rickshaw on Bakshiganj-Raumari highway in Jamalpur's Bakshiganj upazila around 2:30pm, reports our district correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Mia, son of Pukka Mia of East Chankanda area in Sherpur's Sreebordi upazila, said Shohel Rana, officer-in-charge of Bakshiganj Police Station.
The injured, Rakibul Hasan, 23, was admitted to Bakshiganj Upazila Health Complex.
Quoting locals, OC Shohel Rana said the accident happened when the Bakshiganj market-bound covered van crashed into the auto-rickshaw that was heading towards Dhanua-Kamalpur.
Shamim died on the spot and Rakibul Hasan was seriously injured, the OC said.
Separately, Mazedur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Islampur Police Station, said a man died on the spot after a truck ran him over while he was crossing the Jamalpur-Bakshiganj road in Islampur upazila this afternoon.
The deceased was Akram Ali of Gotail village in Islampur upazila, the OC added.
In Panchagarh, a man was killed and two others were injured in a collision between a covered van and a diesel-run three-wheeler on Panchagarh-Banglabandha highway in Mandulpara village in Tentulia upazila this afternoon.
The victim was Nur Islam, 32, of Benghari Bangram village in Boda upazila of the district and also the driver of the three-wheeler.
Zakir Hossain Mollah, officer-in-charge of Tentulia Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter to our Thakurgaon correspondent.
