Road accidents kill 4 in Narsingdi, Manikganj
Four people died in separate road accidents in Narsingdi and Manikganj districts today.
In Narsingdi, three people died when a Dhaka-bound bus from Sylhet collided head-on with an oncoming microbus on Dhaka-Sylhet highway near Morjal bus stand around 4am, said Khaled Mahmud, a sub-inspector of Bhairab highway police station.
The deceased -- the driver and two passengers of the microbus -- could not be identified immediately, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. They also seized both vehicles from the spot.
In Manikganj, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a battery-run auto-rickshaw, said Riyaz Uddin Ahmed Biplob, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ghior Police Station.
The deceased is Md Jalal Uddin (70), a retired employee of Bangladesh Internal Water Transport Association (BIWTA) and a resident of Sribari in Ghior upazila, our Manikganj correspondent reports.
The OC said Jalal Uddin was injured after he was hit by the auto-rickshaw. Local rescued and took him to Shibaloya Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared him "brought dead".
