Road accident kills youth in Dhaka’s Matuail

A youth died after a vehicle hit him in Dhaka's Matuail area this afternoon.

Mehedi Hasan, 23, was a madrasa student in Savar.

Shimu, an eyewitness, said the accident happened around 3:00pm when Mehedi was crossing the busy road near Matuail U-turn area.

She, however, couldn't say which vehicle hit him.

Shimu said Mehedi was first taken to a nearby hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. There doctors declared him dead around 4:00pm, she added.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police outpost.
