Death by garbage truck: DNCC decides to pay Tk 25,000 per month to victim’s family

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today decided to provide Tk 25,000 monthly from their own funds to the family of Md Ahsan Kabir Khan to bear education expenses of his children which will continue till masters or equivalent degrees.

Ahsan died on the spot after a garbage truck of the DNCC ran over him in front of Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in the capital's Panthapath in November last year.

The decision was taken at DNCC's 11th board meeting at Nagar Bhaban at Gulshan today.

Meanwhile at the meeting, DNCC mayor Md Atiqul Islam today directed all councilors of the DNCC to hold at least one coordination meeting in a week.

"We have become mayor with the mandate of the people and it is our duty to ensure protection of people and this responsibility should not be neglected in any way," he said.

Atique also directed the councilors not to go abroad without the permission of the city corporation.
