One killed in train-truck collision in Mymensingh
One person was killed and two others injured when a Dhaka-bound train collided with a truck at Kewatkhali Rail Crossing area of Mymensingh this evening.
The identity of the victims could not be known immediately, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting railway police.
Quoting locals, Mohiuddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Mymensingh Railway Police Station said the accident took place when Mahua Express train collided with a truck, killing one on the spot and injuring two others critically around 7:30pm.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Rescue operations have started and rail connectivity between Dhaka and Mymensingh remains suspended since the accident, said Md Nazmul Haque Khan, superintendent of Mymensingh Railway Station.
The official could not confirm whether the gateman was on duty or not.
