Notre Dame College student drowns in Dhamrai beel

A student of Notre Dame College drowned at a beel in Barigaon area under Dhamrai upazila today.

Rafi Ahmed (19) was a resident of Bank Colony in Savar, reports our Savar correspondent quoting Sohel Rana, senior station officer of Savar Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The fire official said Rafi went into a beel along with four of his friends and drowned there.

On information, a unit from Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and recovered the body after an hour-long frantic effort, the official said.

He was taken to Enam Medial College Hospital where doctor declared him dead.
