Hit by DSCC vehicle, Notre Dame College student dies in Gulistan

A student of Notre Dame College died this morning after being hit by a vehicle of Dhaka South City Corporation in Gulistan area.
The deceased was identified as Nayeem Hasan, a student of Notre Dame College, said Salahuddin Mia, officer-in-charge of Paltan Police Station.
The DSCC vehicle hit the student as he was crossing the road around 11:30am. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 12:15pm, the OC said.
Police seized the vehicle and detained the driver after the incident.
Shah Alam, father of the deceased, rushed to the hospital after hearing the news.
"Why did I send my son to college today? He said 'goodbye' before leaving home, but he left the world," the wailing father kept saying.
Shah Alam said he and his son left their Kamrangirchar home at the same time in the morning.
"I was on my way to my book shop in Nilkhet while my son was going to college… Reckless driving took his life," he told journalists in the hospital.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
