Motorcyclist killed being hit by bus in Bagerhat

A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a passenger bus at the Derboalia area on Khulna-Mawa highway in Bagerhat this evening.

The deceased was identified as Biraj Mollah (35), a cattle trader, son of Lutfar Mollah of Nagarkandi village of Mollahat upazila, reports our local correspondent quoting Sheikh Abul Hasan, in-charge of Mollahat Highway Police Outpost.

According to locals, Biraj was on his way to Mollahat Sadar upazila on his motorcycle.

When he reached the Derboalia area on Khulna-Mawa Highway, a Khulna-bound passenger bus hit his motorcycle, killing him on the spot, the police official said.

On information, police recovered the body, he said, adding the bus was seized.

Legal action is underway in this connection, he informed.
