Motorcycle pillion rider killed as truck runs him over after another accident in Faridpur

A pillion rider was killed after a truck ran him over after an earlier collision between a motorcycle and a rickshaw in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Md Salauddin (28), of Sialdia village under Alfadanga upazila in the same district, reports our Faridpur correspondent.

Quoting locals, Utom Kumar, sub-inspector of Boalmari Police Station, said Salauddin, the pillion rider, and the biker fell on the road after the motorbike collided with a rickshaw van in Borga area around 2:30pm.

At that time, a truck ran Salauddin over, leaving him critically injured.

Salauddin and the motorcyclist were taken to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared Salauddin dead.

The injured biker was later sent to Faridpur Bangabandu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital for better treatment, added the police official.
