Mother, son killed in Gaibandha road accident

A mother and her four-year-old son were killed in a road accident after a cow-laden truck hit the parked motorcycle they were on, in Gaibandha's Gabindraganj upazila this evening.

The deceased were identified as Marufa Begum (30) and her son Md Mahin Hossain, residents of Keshabpur village of Gabindraganj upazila, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Md Atikul Islam, group leader of Gaibandha Fire Service and Civil Defence.

According to locals, the motorcycle was parked in front of the Rajmati Market in Gaibandha city when the truck ran it over around 6:30 pm.

"The mother and son had died on the spot after they were crushed under the wheels of the truck," said Dr Md Majidul Islam, Gobindaganj upazila health and family planning officer.

Agitated locals seized the truck, said the fire official.
