Man who fell into Pallabi drain found alive by canal 2km away
The man who went missing after falling into a sewerage drain in Dhaka's Pallabi area this morning, was rescued alive from a canal after six hours.
Firefighters found him around 3:00pm by the canal, nearly 2km away from where he fell into the drain, Shahab Uddin, senior station officer of Mirpur Fire Station, said.
The man, aged around 40, was swept away to the canal as soon as he fell into the drain. He managed to swim ashore somehow and was lying there, the fire official said.
The fire official said the man is likely intellectually disabled. His name and other details could not be known immediately.
Two firefighting units rushed to the spot after being informed that a man was missing after falling into a drain in Kalshi area around 9:00 am.
