Man dies, reportedly of electrocution, in Dhaka’s Jatrabari

A man died of electrocution at a factory in Dhaka's Jatrabari area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Zahidul Islam (25), worker of Ibadat Binding House.

He lost consciousness while drinking water, standing near a machine around 8:00am. His colleagues saw him lying on the floor and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 10:00am, said Khandaker Emon, son of the owner of the factory.

Yamin Kabir, inspector (investigation) of Jatrabari Police Station, said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.

"We primarily came to know that he was electrocuted to death. We can say for sure after autopsy," he said.
