JCD leader killed in Jashore road accident

A local Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader was killed in a road accident in Jashore's Jhikargachha upazila this morning.

Shakil Khan Saju, 26, was the president of Shankarpur union unit of JCD in the upazila.

Jhikargachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Suman Bhakta confirmed the incident.

Locals said Saju left his home on a motorcycle last night. When he reached JB Bhata area on Bankra-Jhikargacha road, he lost control of the bike and it hit a roadside tree, seriously injuring himself.

He was admitted to Baganchra Mumtaz Majid clinic. Later he was shifted to Jashore General Hospital, but the doctor referred him to Dhaka Neuroscience Hospital for better treatment.

The victim's family members took him to Dhaka in an ambulance but he succumbed to his injuries on the way around 7:00am.
