Former chairman killed in road mishap in Pabna

A former UP chairman was killed when a bus hit his motorbike in the Ahmedpur area of Pabna's Sujanagar upazila this morning.

The deceased Md Jalal Sarkar, 50, of Ahmedpur village, is a former chairman of Ahmedpur union parishad.

Officer-in-Charge of Madhpur Highway Police Station Joynal Abedin said Jalal was on his way to Kashnathpur early in the morning with his bike. When he reached Ahmedpur area on the Dhaka-Pabna highway, a speeding bus hit the bike leaving him dead on the spot.

No one was on the road that early in the morning so the bus could not be identified, the OC said.

A case was filed with the Madhpur Highway Police Station.
