Five carriages of Jayantika Express separate in Habiganj

Day after the coupling between a carriage and a running train gave away, five cars of Dhaka-bound intercity train -- Jayantika Express – got separated at Mantola Railway Station in Habiganj's Madhabpur upazila this afternoon.
Coupling between first 10 and last five carriages gave away when the intercity train restarted after a break at Mantala station in Habiganj's Madhabpur upazila around 3:45pm.
Zahid Hossain, assistant master of the station, confirmed this to our Moulvibazar correspondent.
He said that engineers from Akhaura Railway Station rushed there and solved the problem.
After that, around 8:10pm Jayantika Express left the station for Dhaka, the official said. However, trains were being operated on this route using loop line at the station.
In railway operation, such incident is called "train parting" and considered as an accident. However, such incident is something "abnormal" and "not common", a railway official said.
On Saturday, the last carriage of the Teesta Express, which was heading for Jamalpur from Dhaka, got lose near Bangladesh Agriculture University.
Although none was injured in the incident but rail movement on this route remained suspended for more than one hour.
Contacted, Burhan Uddin, chief mechanical engineer (East) of Bangladesh Railway (BR) said the incident related to Teesta Express had taken place due to "human error" as the coupling was not done properly.
Replying to another question he said Division Railway Manager (DRM) of Dhaka has already formed a committee and action would be taken as per their recommendation.
About Jayantika Express, Burhan said he has given directive to take punitive action against the responsible persons.
