Fire incident in Rajshahi kills woman, injures her 2 sons

A woman was killed and and her two sons sustained injuries in a fire incident at their home in Rajshahi's Bagmara upazila early today.
The deceased was identified as Farida Yasmin, 48, of Madariganj Bazar in the upazila, said Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station.
Yasmin's two sons -- Rashidul Islam and Rafiul Islam -- received burn injuries in the incident.
Yasmin's husband wasn't at home when the incident took place.
The fire broke out around 3.45am, said Mehedi Hasan Tuhin, station officer of Bagmara fire station and civil defence, adding the family was living at the top floor of a three storied building.
The fire service, after primary investigation, said the fire might have originated from the kitchen.
"We responded first to the call at 4.15am", fire official Tuhin said adding that we found the woman dead on the spot.
While Rashidul managed to get out of the house with minor burns, Rafiul suffered serious burn injuries and was rescued from a bush near the building.
"Perhaps Rafiul jumped," Hasan said.
They were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital immediately.Their father, who rushed to the hospital in the morning, took them to Dhaka for better treatment, he added.
The body has been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
