Fire at Gazipur garment factory under control

A fire that broke out at Raihan Fashion Garment Factory of Noor Group in Gazipur's Kaliakair upazila this morning has been brought under control.

Six firefighting units brought the blaze -- that broke out at 9:30am -- under control at 11:30am, reports our local correspondent quoting Saiful Islam, warehouse inspector of Kaliakair Fire Service.

According to workers, the 5th floor of the factory has a godown containing cartons and fabric. There is no electricity connection in that floor. The cause of the fire on that floor is still unknown.

The fire has been brought under control by the efforts of fire service and garment workers.

However, it was not immediately possible to know the the extent of damage, Saiful Islam added.
