Father, 2 sons dead as train hits auto-rickshaw in Brahmanbaria
A 75-year-old man and his two sons died when a train hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria early today.
The deceased are Sadek Miah and his sons Rubel (32) and Pavel (23) of Rajghar village in Sadar upazila.
The accident took place at Talshahar around 4:45am when the three were going to Dhaka by the auto-rickshaw for Sadek's eye treatment, said Sub-inspector Salauddin Khan, in-charge of Brahmanbaria Railway Police outpost.
CNG driver Shiru Miah was also injured in the accident. He was taken to Brahmanbaria General Hospital where doctors referred him to Dhaka for better treatment.
A train -- Dhaka Mail -- coming from Chattogram hit the three-wheeler at Talshahar railway crossing, said Dharmajit Sinha, sub-inspector of Ashuganj Police Station.
Pavel died on the spot while Sadek and Rubel died at General Hospital later, the SI said.
