Farmer killed by lightning strike in Sirajganj

A farmer died after being struck by lightning in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj today.

Sultan Pramanik, 60, of Char Anganu village, and his co-workers went to a paddy field to harvest in the morning, said Ziaul Alam, chairman of Kayempur union parishad, quoting locals.

Though all the workers managed to rush to a safe place, Sultan got struck by lightning. He died on the spot, added Nazrul Islam Mridha, officer-in-charge of Shahjadpur Police Station.
