Ex-army official dies being hit by train in Jamalpur

A former army officer was killed when he was hit by a train in Jamalpur Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased, Sanower Jahan Shimul, 28, served in Bangladesh army for four years before retiring, said Sub-inspector Abdus Sattar, of Government Railway Police (GRP) in Jamalpur.

Shimul was hit by the Dhaka-bound Brahmaputra Express train when he was crossing the rail line, the SI said quoting witnesses.
