Death of 5 in Uttara crash: Probe body formed
The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges yesterday (August 15, 2022) formed a five-member probe committee to investigate the incident that left five persons dead and two others injured after the segment of a viaduct meant for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) fell from a crane on a private car in the capital's Uttara.
Nilima Akhter, additional secretary Road Transport and Highways Division, has been made the head of the committee, A B M Amin Ullah Nuri, secretary of the highways division told The Daily Star last night.
The committee was asked to submit a primary report by this morning (August 16, 2022) and submit a full report within next two days, said the secretary.
Representatives from Roads and Highways Department, Bangladesh Bridge Authority and Bangladesh Police are in the committee, he added.
