CTG depot fire: CID starts DNA collection for body identification

A team of experts of Criminal Investigation Department has started collecting DNA samples of the deceased in Chattogram container depot fire in order to identify them.

The experts started collecting the samples at Chattogram Medical College morgue around 8am, Azad Rahman, additional superintendent of police (media) of CID, confirmed.

Of the 49 dead consisting mostly workers of the private depot and firefighters, 13 have been identified so far.

The number of fatalities is likely to go up as some of the injured are in critical condition and at least three firefighters remain missing.
