Child's body recovered in Gazipur

Police today recovered the body of a child from a water reserve tank of an under-construction mosque in Gazipur.

The victim is Jamela Khatun, 3, daughter of Baharul Islam, of Boalmari thana in Faridpur, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting police.

Sub-Inspector Saruzzaman of Basan Police Station told The Daily Star that the body was recovered from Dighir Chala village this afternoon.

He said the the reserve tank had no lid and the child fell into it while playing around 12:00pm and died.

SI said that the incident happened due to the negligence of the mosque authorities.
