Bus-human hauler collision leaves 2 dead in Narayanganj

Two persons were killed and five others were injured as a bus collided head-on with a human hauler (Leguna) on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj today (October 28, 2022).

The deceased are Leguna driver Ferdous (26), and its passenger Kulsum (55), reports a correspondent quoting Inspector Omar Faruq, in-charge of Bhulta police camp under Kachpur Highway Police Station.

Quoting eye-witnesses, Inspector Omar Faruq said a Dhaka-bound Rupashi Bangla Paribahan bus collided with a human hauler, coming from opposite direction, at Pachrukhi area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 2:45pm.

The passenger of the human hauler died on the spot while the driver of the human hauler was critically injured along with five others, the police officer said.

Injured driver was rushed to a local hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead, informed the police officer.

Police seized the bus and the human hauler while the bus driver and his associates fled the scene, he said, adding that a case in this regard is under process.
