60-year-old dead as vehicle hits him in Dhaka’s Kakrail

A 60-year-old man died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at Kakrail in Dhaka last night (October 22, 2022).

The victim was identified as Oliullah Mollah, resident of Noagaon village under Kachua upazila of Chandpur.

The incident happened in front of Kakrail Mosque around 10:15pm, Mahmudul Hasan, Sub-inspector of Ramna Police Station confirmed to The Daily Star.

On information, he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead at 11:00pm, said the SI.

He added that the man came to Kakrail mosque with Tabligh Jamaat men.

His relatives have been informed, the SI said, adding that further details will be known later.

The body has been kept at DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he added.
