5 workers burnt in explosion at Narayanganj steel mill

At least five workers were burnt after they came in contact with molten metal during an explosion at a steel mill in Narayanganj's Fatullah upazila this afternoon. 

The injured were taken to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery with burns from 11 to 52 percent, said Aiyub Hossain, resident surgeon of the institute.

The injured are: Billal Hossain (25), Arif (27), Abdul Ali (26), Sohel (35) and Liton (36).

The incident happened around 12:15am while they were working at Chakda Steel and Re-rolling Mills Ltd, said Rubel Bhandari, a co-worker who took them to the hospital.
