At least five people were killed after a fire ripped through a plastic factory in Bogura's Adamdighi upazila this afternoon.

The fire originated around 11:45am at the warehouse in Shantahar area.

Bodies of five persons were recovered after 10 firefighting units doused the fire around 2:00pm, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi Police Station, said all the five were charred beyond recognition.

The factory used to produce disposable glasses and plates, the OC said.
