4 run over by train in Nilphamari

Four people were run over by a train in Nilphamari Sadar upazila today.

Locals said Moksedul Islam (55), a tailor, his daughter (11) and son (10) were run over by Khulna-bound Khulna Mail, coming from Nilphamari train station, around 7:30am in Boubazar area of Monsapara when they were sitting on the railway tracks.

A local youth, Azam (28), died when he tried to save Moksedul and his children, they said.

Confirming the accident Tanjulur Rahman, superintendent of police (GRP) of Syedpur, said police recovered the bodies and sent those to the hospital for autopsy.
