398 people die in over 300 road crashes in 15 days of Eid rush: Jatri Kalyan Samity

At least 398 people were killed and 778 were injured in 319 road crashes in just 15 days during the Eid rush.

Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity today revealed this information at a press conference at Dhaka Reporter's Unity today.

"This is one of the highest number of road crashes and deaths reported during Eid rush," Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of Samity said while reading out the report.

The organisation prepared this on the basis of media reports.

Motorcycles were among the top reasons behind the accidents, he said.

At least 131 people died and 68 others were injured in 113 accidents involving bikes, which is 35.42 percent of the total accidents and 32.91 percent of the total deaths, he said.
