3 killed as microbus hits truck at Rajbari
At least three persons were killed and two others critically injured when a microbus hit a truck at Nimtala Rail Crossing area under Rajbari Sadar upazila in Dhaka-Khulna highway last night.
The deceased were identified as Aminul Islam Alim, Kamruzzaman Sardar (45) and Masud Moulabi (45), reports our Faridpur correspondent.
Aminul Islam was a UP member of No-3 Macchar union while Kamruzzaman was a president of Khalilpur Bazar Banik Samity. Details of Masud Moulabi could not be known immediately.
Quoting eyewitnesses, Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ahladipur Highway Police Station said, the microbus was heading towards Faridpur with six persons on board.
The accident occurred at around 8:00pm when the microbus hit a truck at Nimtali Rail Crossing area – leaving two persons including the microbus driver dead on the spot and three others critically injured, according to eyewitnesses.
The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where an on duty doctor declared Aminul dead, said Jahid Munshi, chairman of Machhar union parishad.
