3 killed, 2 hurt in road accidents

Three people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in two districts during the last two days, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Netrakona, two persons were killed and two others were injured when a Netrakona-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head on with a Dhaka-bound bus on Mymensingh-Netrakona road in Jhaushi area under Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Sumon Chouhan, 30, from Barhatta upazila in Netrakona; and Wasim Mia, 35, the CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver.
Of them, Sumon, a Border Guard Bangladesh member, was posted in Rangpur, said police.
Sumon and Wasim died on the spot, Netrakona Model Police Station officer-in-charge Khandokar Shaker Ahmed quoted locals as saying.
The injured -- Mofazzol Hossain, 35, and Mamun Mia, 32, from Mymensingh -- were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Police seized the vehicles. A case was lodged with the police station.
In Chapainawabganj, a motorcyclist was killed a truck hit his bike from behind at Rohonpur in Gomostapur upazila yesterday.
Abdul Matin, 55, from Laxmipur village in Gomostapur, was declared dead at Gomostapur Upazila Health Complex.
Gomostapur Police Station OC Mahbubhur Rahman said the accident occurred around 8:00am near Latifur Rahman petrol pump. After the incident, police seized the vehicle but the truck driver fled the scene.
