2 policemen, an accused dead in Tangail road accident

Two police constables and an accused of a case died and two others sustained injuries when a microbus hit a truck from behind in Madhupur upazila of Tangail last night (October 24, 2022).
The deceased were identified as constables Nurul Islam and Sohel Rana of Narayanpur Police Outpost in Jamalpur Sadar upazila, and Md Lalon of Gojarhata village in the same upazila.
Lalon was an accused of a case filed under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Shariful Islam, additional superintendent of police in Tangail, told The Daily Star that the accident happened on Elenga-Jamalpur road at Golabari in Madhupur upazila around 8:00pm when the two policemen were returning to Jamalpur with accused Lalon after conducting his DNA test in Dhaka.
The three died on the spot, the police official said.
Azizul Islam, sub-inspector of Narayanpur Police Outpost, and Abdul Latif, an accused of another case, were seriously injured in the accident. They were undergoing treatment in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, the police official said.
Mazharul Amin, officer-in-charge of Madhupur Police Station, said the bodies were sent to the Tangail General Hospital for autopsy.
Jamalpur SP Nasir Uiddin Ahmed also confirmed the deaths in the incident.
