2 motorcyclists dead in Thakurgaon crash

Two young men died and another got critically injured after a motorcyclist with two pillion passengers lost control and crashed into a tree in Farabari area of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila last night.

Mintu, 32, son of Goli Uddin, and Hasan, 30, son of Efaj Uddin, were pronounced dead when they were taken to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital, reports our correspondent in the district.

Both of them were residents of Farabari area, said Ataur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector of Thakurgaon Police Station.

Firoz, 30, was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with critical injuries, he said, adding that all of them were labourers.

Quoting locals, the ASI said the three men were going to Thakurgaon town from Farabari on the motorcycle and the crash happened around 8:30pm.

Locals then rescued them and took them to the Adhunik hospital.

As Firoz's condition deteriorated, he was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Police had handed over the bodies to the family members.
