2 killed in truck-covered van collision at B’baria

Two people were killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a covered van on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria this (August 1, 2022) afternoon.

The accident happened at Islampur area adjacent to local police outpost on the highway, said Sukhendu Bosu, officer-in-charge of Khantihata Highway Police Station, reports our local correspondent.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.

The accident happened when a Dhaka-bound truck collided head-on with the covered van heading towards Sylhet. Two people including the driver of the covered van were killed on the spot, said the OC.

The police official also added that two people onboard the truck were also injured in the accident.

Locals rescued them and sent to the nearby hospital for treatment.
