2 dead as truck crashes into roadside tree in Ctg

A truck driver and his helper were killed when the vehicle hit a roadside tree in Hatiyarpool area under Lohagara upazila of Chattogram this afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting Rakibul Islam, sub-inspector of Dohazari Highway Police Station.

The accident took place at around 5:00pm when a Tomato-carrying Cox's Bazar-bound truck from Chattogram, crashed into a roadside tree after its driver lost control of the wheels -- leaving him and his helper dead on the spot, said the SI.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered both bodies, he said, adding the bodies were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy.
