Minor dies after truck runs him over in Jurain

A minor boy died after a truck ran him over in Dhaka's Jurain area last night.

The deceased were identified as Ibrahim (12), an employee at a shop that sells chicken in Jurain.

A speeding truck ran over Ibrahim near Jurain Mazar Gate area around 11:00pm when he was crossing the road. He died on the spot following severe head injuries, said Sub-inspector Al Amin of Shyampur Police Station.

Police seized the truck and detained its driver, he said.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy.
