13-yr-old boy drowns in Thakurgaon pond

A 13-year-old boy drowned in a pond in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila this afternoon.

Lukman Mehedi Luban, a student of Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School, had gone to the pond in Bahadurpara area to swim with his friends.

After failing to rescue the boy as he was drowning, locals informed fire service officials who rushed there and recovered his unconscious body, said Sarwar Hossain, station officer of Thakurgaon Fire Station.

He was rushed to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, he said.
