12-year-old missing after falling into Ctg drain

A 12-year-old boy remained missing for over 24 hours after he fell into a roadside drain at Sholoshahar Railway Station area in Chattogram city yesterday afternoon.
As the family members could not rescue him till this afternoon, locals informed fire service.
On information, divers of the fire service started rescue operation around 4:30pm today, said Farid Ahmed, sub-assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Chattogram.
Locals said two boys, residents of a slum, fell into the drain as they were playing nearby around 4:30pm yesterday. One of them managed to come out but another, named Kamal, drowned.
Kamal remained missing as of filing this report at 5:30pm today, firefighters said.
Since Kamal went missing, his father Kawsar has become traumatised.
Showing Kamal's photo, he was seen seeking help to find him.
In September, Sehrin Mahbub Sadia (19), a first year honours student of International Islamic University, died after falling into a roadside drain at Chattogram's Agrabad Badamtoli area.
The incident sparked anger among citizens all over the city.
