10 in critical condition at burn institute

Ten people, who were injured in yesterday's explosion at Gulistan, are undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and are all in critical condition.

While talking to The Daily Star this morning, Samanta Lal Sen, chief national coordinator for plastic surgery and burn projects in Bangladesh, gave the current status of the patients after visiting them at the institution.

"Two of the 10 are undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Their condition is critical. The others are also in critical condition. Most of their bodies have been burnt," he said.

So far, at least 17 people have been killed in this blast in Gulistan. At least 100 people were injured.
