'Bangladesh First' quiz contest launched

Bangladesh First, a nationwide quiz contest on Bangladesh, was launched by The Daily Star and e-learning portal champs21.com at a press conference in the capital's The Daily Star Centre yesterday.
The programme, titled “Rin presents Bangladesh First - powered by Standard Chartered Bank”, will begin on September 6.
A total of 8,000 students of classes VI to X from 80 champs21.com partner Bangla and English medium schools will contest in the first round, comprising multiple choice questions (MCQ).
The educational programme contains two other rounds, namely Oral and TV rounds.
The contest, focusing on facts and figures on Bangladesh's history, heritage, culture, tradition, literature etc, will uphold the importance of having extensive knowledge on Bangladesh as a country.
Maasranga TV, as the official telecasting partner, will air over 32 episodes of the contest presumably from around late October or early November.
The first round of the contest will be held on September 6 at 10:00am at St Joseph Higher Secondary School in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
It will simultaneously be held in Chittagong Government High School in Chakbazar,
Chittagong; Government Agragami Girls' High School and College, Sylhet; Rajshahi Collegiate School, Rajshahi; Khulna Zila School, Khulna; Barisal Zila School, Barisal; and Rangpur Zila School, Rangpur.
In Dhaka, there will be a second round at St Joseph Higher Secondary School at 3:00pm.
