Ban on visiting some tourist spots for safety
The administration here on Tuesday imposed a temporary ban on visiting Remarki and Tindu unions of Thanchi upazila of the district by tourists during monsoon for safety reasons.
The ban will remain effective in the areas from June 19 to September 30.
At a meeting, the local administration observed that different tourist areas in the upazila, including Chhoto Madak and Bara Madak points, Nafakum and Remarki canal and large stones of Tindu may pose high risks for visitors.
During this time of the year, massive hill collapse also take place there due to strong stream in the Sangu River.
On June 9, an intern doctor of Dhaka Medical College, identified as Minul Islam Shimul, died after falling into the turbulent water Nafakum waterfall.
