Ban, Hasina discuss Bangladesh situation

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina discussed the current situation in Bangladesh in the lead-up to the parliamentary elections.
During the meeting held at 2:20am Sunday at the UN headquarters in New York, the Secretary-General appreciated Bangladesh’s achievements and its leadership on the Millennium Development Goals.
According to a press release of the office of the Spokesperson of the UN Secretary, Ban also expressed deep gratitude for the country’s significant contribution to UN peacekeeping.
He also praised the PM's leadership in promoting the empowerment of women.
