Ayman exits, shooters fail

Bangladeshi teenage shuttler Ayman Ibne Zaman was eliminated from the second round in men's badminton singles event after being beaten in straight sets by Japanese competitor Koga Minoru in the at the Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China on Sunday.
Ayman had earlier beaten Al-Mandalawi Qasim of Iraq in straight sets on Saturday to move into the last 16.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh's medal hopes in shooting were vanquished as BKSP's Sharmin Akter Ratna and Savar Cantonment Club's Sharmin Akter failed to make it to the final shoot-out of Women's 10m Air Rifle event yesterday. Ratna scored 396 to finish 27th among 40 participants while Sharmin scored 393.2 to finish in 32nd position.
The basketball team suffered a 15-16 point defeat against Iran in the three-on-three basketball event of the championship.
