Man dressed as beggar buys iPhone 15 with coins

Expensive iPhones are typically regarded as a status symbol, and ordinary people cannot afford to spend that much money on a phone.

A sociological experiment was recently done by an Instagram account "Experiment King" to explore how retailers would respond if a "beggar" went up to buy an iPhone, reports NDTV.

A man disguised as a beggar is shown in the video browsing cellphone stores in Jodhpur with a sack full of coins to buy an iPhone 15.

While several outlets refused to let him in due to his tattered, dirty clothes, many others refused to accept coins as payment.

However, one store eventually consented to accept his one-of-a-kind payment method, according to the report.

The man is then seen emptying the sack onto the floor and delivering it to the seller and his staff. Later in the video, the store employees are seen counting the coins. The "beggar" then examines and poses with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. He also snaps a photo with the business owner, who appears astonished.

The video has received over 34 million views and several likes and comments since it was uploaded. While some people liked the experiment, others were moved by the staff of the mobile store, added the report.

''It's scripted..today no beggar looks like him,'' a netizen wrote.

"An entertaining and thought-provoking experiment, hahaha," said another.

"This experiment is truly epic, my friend," wrote another person.

Apple's much-awaited iPhone 15 series became available in India on September 22. Before the launch, long lines were seen outside Apple's retail outlets in Delhi and Mumbai.
