India recognising Bangladesh in 71: PM Hasina to address special event on Dec 6

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to speak on December 6 at a special event organised by the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) to celebrate "Maitri Diwas," the day India recognised the government of independent Bangladesh in 1971.
According to the itinerary, the programme will take place at the Sapru House in New Delhi where the prime minister will deliver her speech virtually at 3.05 pm Indian time on the day, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
Among other speakers at the function will be Bangladesh's State Minister Culture KM Khalid, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhamad Imran.
A video on "India-Bangladesh Maitri Diwas" will also be screened on the occasion. There will also be a panel discussion.
India recognised Bangladesh as an independent nation on December 6, 1971.
