7 killed in blast in illegal firecracker factory in West Bengal
At least seven people were killed and several others injured when an explosion ripped through an illegal firecracker factory in India's West Bengal today
The factory which was being run from a residential building in Egra of Purba Medinipur district, collapsed due to the force of the explosion, reports our New Delhi correspondent quoting police.
Locals told PTI that body parts and debris were strewn all around the house, including in a nearby pond.
On March 20, three people were killed in a blaze at a fireworks unit at Mahestala in South 24 Parganas district.
In December, 2022, three people were killed in an explosion in a firecracker factory at Bhupatinagar of Purba Medinipur district.
